Does the search function work on this Forum?

I've tried several search terms including the single word "Vista" and always end up with no results. My guess is that the search function is broken.

Whaddya say?

I bought my vaio a few months ago (FE41s)...all in all it is a great machine. There are loads of little faults (mainly due to Vista), but over the last few weeks I have updated drives, updated BIOS etc and things are working well).
Throughout all of this the forum has been an excellent place to pick up tips and get answers.

I have to say I CANNOT understand why a SIMPLE function like SEARCH cannot be fixed....this is the ONE function that NEEDS to be available for the forum to be of any use.

PLEASE PLEASE GET THIS SORTED........

OK then, if it's simple could you post the code, then Nico can just slip it in....

I agree with you though, it should be made top priority.

I am a new member here, after spending a lot of money on a Vaio laptop, I would of expected a lot better than this.

I've had no end of problems trying to get everything working.

The search function here is a complete joke. It has been down for far too long.

Do I really have to manually search through several thousand pages!!

Totally pathetic and very infuriating.

I'll definitely think twice about buying a Vaio again.

I'm thinking that DELL may be the best choice next time. At least their website isn't a complete joke like this one.

I suppose you live and learn.

I can well understand kinetic_flight's frustration!

I have owned something like 8 x Sony notebooks, 6 desktops and four monitors of various types over the past 11 years. And as my sig shows I currently run three Sony PCs (amongst others - a MacBook Pro, Evesham, Gateway and home-built desktops) as well as two Sony HD LCD TVs, a Sony DVD-RW, a PSP and a PS2

And one thing has been consistent over that time; the slow but constant degradation in the standard and quality of support from Sony. It used to be that replies to e-Support queries were near instantaneous and contained intelligent, well thought out and above all helpful responses. Now it takes days and you get nothing but a (frequently obtuse) company line. Mercifully I haven't had to use hardware support/repair/replacement lately - with one exception when Sony swapped out the wrong hard drive it used to be very, very good. But judging by the standard of e-Support I wonder just how good it is now.

In my opinion the abject failure to install and maintain a reliable search function on these forums is symptomatic of a declining commitment by Sony to Customer Service and Support.

And that, I'm afraid, will mean a declining commitment to Sony products on my part.
