Does the search function work on this Forum?

I've tried several search terms including the single word "Vista" and always end up with no results. My guess is that the search function is broken.

Do you believe that it's difficult for a company like Sony to enable search on a forum?

As things are now, you can't tell whether your Vaio problem is frequent or not and whether there is a solution or not since the forum is practically, unless you serach manually 2651 pages!!

You may be right, they could be trying to hide lots of problems.

I noticed when you find something here via a Google search, it can't take you to the post. It takes you to the forums front page?

Next they may start censoring posts that they don't agree with.

This forum is in meltdown and is useless without a decent search, even via Google.

Or is this forum just a useless facade for shoddy "AFTER SALES" support?

It should only take a couple of days to get the search working perfectly. Something is seriously wrong somewhere.

Hang on a tick....the Search function appears to be working!...though not very well. I see that it does not pick out all instances of a word

My next question: Is there an advanced search feature I wonder?

Not that I know of.

It needs a bit of tweaking, imagine the time and effort it takes to make Google's work to the level it does?

The search function was never that accurate before though...

'VAIO' brings up 130 hits but 'Registry' finds only 4 hits and 'CD-ROM' only finds one.

'Upperfilters' or 'lowerfilters' does not find anything - I know of at least 15 instances in the one thread about optical drives.
