volume control button

the volume control buttons below the touch pad is not working on my lap top....any ideas folks?

Yeah, this is like saying : my car is not starting, any idea...
could be the battery, starter, injection, key, electrics, computers, no more fuel , no more starter, wrong fuel,...

Please : What Vaio, what OS, any other buttons failing (probably yes, your Fn keys will probably also fail), anything new installed since the proplem started appearing, ....

It can help if you give a little bit more info but then again someone with great technical knowledge may be able to predict what the problem is.
