Issue in playing iTunes + Quicktime related content, Please help!!!

Hi,
This is quite a confusing problem in my new VGC-VA1.
Basically, I have problems playing HD Trailers (from Apple site) and also video within iTunes (such as video casts). The audio flickers.
for example i downloaded the x-men HD trailer, and i had the problem when played with quicktime 7. same problem when played in Real player or any other player.

But all the other video and audio (including other HD content from microsoft website) work well (both video and audio). - this is in all players including quicktime.

i thought its something wrong with a driver. but if i download the same trailer using my other pc and copy it to this (Vaio), that plays without any problem in all players.

can anyone help me with this.

I remember someone else having this issue, and it came down to the settings, you want to use DirectSound rather than the other option

Sorry, trying to think back to the post...

It's in Quicktime preferences - you select DirectSound as the output

if anyone else is watching this thrread... i also had to enable safe mode for video (under advanced tab) for both quicktime and itunes to work fine...

ah.. so bad.. i thought it worked... but not 100%...
sometimes it works.. sometimes it doesent... what a shame..
quicktime seems to work fine...
but itunes still plays the diggnation videos with corrupte audio... once in a while it works fine..
but whats the point... never expected this in a sony..
