I have an issue with my screen display.  Purchased laptop 15 months ago.  Laptop gets very little usage (max 1 hr daily) and is minded like a baby. My screen display has broken, have both vertical and horizontal stripes appearing on screen. Have narrowed it down to a screen display problem.  Has anybody else had a similar issue with this model.  The laptop did not get damaged in any way!! Is there a solution to this problem that wont cost me €200 to get fixed.

What happens if you connect an external monitor?  Is the problem the same or is the monitor OK?

If you tap F2 during the boot sequence - when you first see the Vaio logo - this will open the BIOS screens.  Is the display faulty in these BIOS screens or are they displayed OK?

When I enter the BIOS screen the lines still appear but when I connect to an external monitor the display is perfect.  Any suggestions
