Hi,
I bought a nice VAIO laptop about 7-8 months ago and during the past few months I've started to get annoying electric shocks from it and yesterday as I got one which ended up me swiping a glass full of lemonade of my desk (which of course ended up crashing in to pieces to the floor) I decided to check if this is a known issue?
The shocks aren't like jumping on to an electric fence, but strong enough to cause a "getaway" effect (which leads to broken glasses etc). It usually gives a one good snap and after that you're good to go untill you take your hands of from it and give it some time to... ... recharge..
I'm afraid to touch my Vaio soon.. which is sad because I like my Vaio (except the snaps).
EDIT: Fixed the model.

Hi snapshock and welcome to the VAIO forum.
That's definitely not they way it should be. I would suggest you contact the support immediately in order to get this checked/fixed.
And please do not use the notebook if not absolutely necessary.
If you have important data on your VAIO please make a backup of these, as typically during a repair the unit is set back to factory settings which is erasing all data from the hard drive.
Do the electric shocks occur regularly? Is there a difference whether you work from the AC-adapter or from battery?
If you have any difficulty in contacting Vaio Support, then please send me a PM with your Vaio's Serial Number and your contact details (Phone No + Email) and I will send these to Sony and request they contact you.
Thanks for the replies.
I'd say it has always happened when the charger has been plugged in. So, it could be an issue with the charger or.. the socket on the wall itself (grounding issues), though I haven't had any issues with any other device.
I'll contact the local dealer and get this baby checked.
