media server missing

media server missing

my pcg-k315z keep telling me my vaio media server is not installed .How do I go about installing it ??????

Hi 1tracy,

go to Start then All Programs, Vaio Recovery Tool and click on Vaio Recovery utility.

Once the Vaio Recovery utility has loaded, click the options button and select Recovery Specific Applications that were pre-installed, click OK, then Yes and Yes again.

You should see Vaio media listed, select and click install..

Tried that, but it is still telling me it cannot start servers and for some reason the outlook express is not recieving e mail from one of my accounts.

Hi 1tracy,

have you installed or uninstalled anything recently.?

If so have you tried a system restore to a point before you started receiving the error message.?

I have tried a restore point.no good. It seemes to have happened when I was using windows updates. Now I cannot use it at all,everytime I try to install an update it will not allow.???? and I have also tried all the advice on their faq page. It seemes to affect only pop email server in outlook express as well.strange.I tried to reinstall internet explorer but it will not let me intall IE 7

Have you run a virus and spyware scan.?


Now I cannot use it at all,everytime I try to install an update it will not allow.????


Do you get an error message, if what is it.?

I ran all scans still no good . I tried to figure out the error but no good on that either.When I try to connect with outlook express or windows live. it read an error..................
