I have had to fit a new hard drive to vaio desktop how can i recover the vaio software that was installed on the original drive with the original OS?

Did you make a set of recovery discs when you first bought your Vaio?  The system will have reminded you to do this. This is strongly recommended as it is the only way you can recover the original OS and software in the event of a hard drive failure.  This software cannot be downloaded.

If you did not make recovery discs, the only way is to buy a replacement set of discs from Sony Support.  This will cost around 50€.

Thanks for your reply, I did have a set of disk, just moved and so do you think i can find them!!! Guess that will cost me.
