FE 21m WiFi / Bluetooth switch fault

Hi Guys,

Hope you may be able to help, I seem to have a faulty WiFi / Bluetooth switch, the manual slider on the bottom right front of the case edge next to the memory stick slot, which I assume you turn off for ' flight mode ' ?

It has been playing up for sometime now and is getting more and more difficult to fiddle it into an ' on ' position where the blue and green lights will show.

I am now having a problem with the internet connection dropping in and out 6, 7, 8 times in quick succession not long enough for the lights to go out but sometimes it will drop the cloaking service we use and that has to be reconnected, but at other times it will run without problems for 3, 4 or 5 hours at a time.

I am suspecting the switch, whilst appearing to be on, is in fact causing an intermitent connection.

We have recently had a new wifi card and have just returned the unit to ' factory settings ' in an attempt to clear all the little gremlins out that may have been breeding over the last 5 years !

Neither of which have solved the problem, does anyone know whether the switch element is a renewable item seperate from the motherboard, if so it would probably be a cheap way of ensuring it was perfect, failing that could it be shorted out, I never have need to turn it off so its a pointless function anyway.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Steve
