Change the language from German to English

Hi !

1-I have a VGC-JS2E bought in Germany and is all in German.How do I change the language of all the applications to English ?
2-Also ordered the Windows 7 upgrade, will that help me to change the language entirely to English ?

Hi costinstoian and welcome.

1. You have bought a Vaio with the German version of Windows and this language can only be changed if you own a copy of the Ultimate version.

2. For licencing purposes, Microsoft will only allow the upgrade to the same language so you will get a German Home Premium Upgrade Kit from Sony.

You can either buy a retail copy in English of Windows 7 Home Premium or you can order the Sony Upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium and then buy an upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. With Ultimate you can download the language pack of your choice.

Whichever way you do it is going to cost you money. It is always a false economy to purchase a PC with another language installed as Microsoft will charge you to change it unless you already have the ultimate version.

I hav already ordered the Sony Windows 7 upgrade and I will buy the Windows 7 Ultimate.
Could you please explain is all the Vaio utilities on the computer will switch to English after the installation ?

and get english language pack from hier for free too:

after downloading this items you can change the language of your windows home german to english.

Just simply double click on Vistalizator and in new window to add the english language via english language pack.

It takes 20 min. & after restart you have your old win 7 home with the new language.
