How can I reset folder view thumbnail pics, rather than default program icons?

Help please!
My picture folders no longer display thumbnails of my pictures, instead each file is just an icon of my default editing program.
How can I get the W7 Windows Explorer to return to displaying the thumbnails please?
I've explored the Default Programs options, but that doesn't seem to address this issue, being more concerned with which program to run once a file is clicked on.
Kind regards, Ian

Try this: -

1. Click the "Start" button, type folder options and click the "Folder Options" link that appears.

2. When the "Folder Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "View" tab.

3. Uncheck "Always show icons, never thumbnails" to enable thumbnail generation.

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

If you click on 'VIEW' in the top menu bar, do you have the option to choose Thumbnails rather than Icons?

Also make sure the folders are designated as picture folders.  View -> Customise this folder -> choose Pictures as the folder type from the dropdown box.

Thanks for advice.

Alas, I'd tried those.

The 'View' options are the usual - Icon size, List, Details, Tiles, & Content.

The Customisation is set to Pictures.

Trying the 'Rest to Default' has no effect either.

Halleluya!

Great Blencogo. That's done it.

I suspected there was a relatively simple solution, but I sure didn't know of this window.

Thanks a lot.:smileyhappy:
