Built in camera

Hi,

I have a VGN-FE41S and am having real trouble with the built in camera. I can only use it on messanger just after turning my laptop on. When my laptops been on for a while it won't work at all.

I also can't find any options anywhere for it.

Hi Mike.

Welcome to Club Vaio.

Check by going to C:\Program Files\Sony\Vaio Camera Capture Utility\Version.txt that you have the latest version of the Camera Capture Utility installed: -
it should be VAIO Camera Capture Utility 2.2.03.11150

If you go to All Programs -> Vaio Camera Capture Utility the Camera Utility should open with some options.

Have you installed the MIcrosoft Hotfix KB931812 which was released to fix this problem in conjunction with the VAIO Camera Capture Utility 2.2.03.11150? If not I attach it to the bottom of this thread - just download it and run the .EXE file.

Thanks for your reply, I've downloaded the hotfix but don't seem to have the Vaio Camera Capture Utility, if I do I can't find it.

Hi Mike,

You are using Vista not XP?

Try to install it from here - it is 10th from the top: -

VGN-FE41S Downloads

If it is an update only, then you will need to download all the Original Utilities for your model and install the original version before this update.

FE41S Original Utilities Package

Do you have the Vaio Camera Utility or is that missing as well. Look in the C:\Program Files\Sony directory.
