Forum - Search Facility

Hi all - newbie here :smileyblush:

I can't get the search facility to work - has it ever worked? - is it a long term problem? After searching 40 pages (out of 1400!) I realise that without it, the forum's usefullness is seriously undermined. Bit of a frustration.

Hey ho - big thumbs up to all the kind souls who help out, though. Stars, one and all...

The search facility is a little grumpy at the moment lol

Another way to search may be going through the individual forum sections.

Its not ideal but it may help.

Do you have a specific problem you need help with?

Thanks for the reply. I started going through the posts but gave up on page 40 (out of 1400+)!

I've posted the key issue, which drew me to the forum in the first place, on a separate thread ("Long shot... backlight dimensions"). Not surprisingly, it's about backlight dimensions :smileywink:. I'm not overly confident about getting a solution but fingers crossed - you never know - there are some very clever and helpful people about especially around here, it seems.

I am sorry to have to say but I have to confirm the search function is having long term issues.
To be honest Japan is in control of the worldwide setup of the Google application for the search functions.

After repeated complaints (at least 2 years - 15 times) the issue is still not solved. So I am strongly thinking of asking our designers to cut the search function link with Japan and to go solo. This will politically be difficult but customer experience should be our first goal.

I hope to be able to announce a working search function before the end of the year. In the meantime I ask you ad all other frustrated members to bare with me...

By the way, I'm not sure I want to bare with you - I didn't realise it was that kind of forum

In the meantime I'm more than happy to bear with you (hey, I'm getting therapy for my pedantry! )

If it wasn't for hard work of people like yourself, forums like these would be poorer places indeed - thanks v.much .
