Only if you have graphic card issues.
If it aint broke then don't try to fix it.

I got a brand new A115-B with a Ati Mobile 9200 to. And i installed the new ati drivers to. But not the official from ATI , the catalyst. But the omega drivers. This because the omega drivers are adjusted for Mobile GPU's. The original Catalyst can not be installed on a mobile. PS, the new omega drivers were needed for playing HITMAN 3 on a mobile 9000....

Hey could someone let me know where the new 9200 drivers are? They don't show up on the driver download section for my K115s on the Sony support site. Really woud appreciate it. I just tried the Omega drivers instead since I had heard good things about them.......and they totally crapped up my multi monitor setup. Put both my start bars on the 2nd monitor and fixed the mouse on the 1st, rendering both more or less unusable. Newbies be warned....

Many ways to fix one problem

1. Go to ati.com and download the Catalyst driver package.

2. Use your recovery disk, it should have the drivers on it.

3. Use windows system restore Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore (this only works if System restore is turned on, It normaly is unless you turned it off to save disc space) once the program loads select a date prior to installing the omega driver then do the restore WARNING THIS WILL RESTORE THE HARD DISC TO THE STATE IT WAS AT THAT DATE AND ANY CHANGES AFTER THAT DATE WILL BE LOST

4. Go in to dispaly drive properties and roll back the driver. To do this right click on you desktop and select properties this will open the display window go to the settings tap and click on the advanced button, this opens another window click on the adapter tab then click on the properties button, again another window, select the driver tab and click the roll back button to install your previous driver.

Thank Mr. Bender, that's useful advice for everyone. Unfortunately the Catalyst drivers are not for ATI Mobility cards in laptops....Simonyeah mentioned the new drivers are out for Mobility cards I'm trying to track them down....

Can aynone find them?

Ok i guess I will answer my own question...Sony still don't seem to provide updated drivers, however I downloaded the XP Radeon Catalyst drivers (For Desktop graphics cards) and then used Patje's DHmod to allow it to work for my mobility card. Google it if you want to do this yourself. I got a blue screen citing a Page_Fault_Error upon installation but a restart made it disappear and it's worked fine since.
There is also another program called MobilityMod which i believe is also very good. Please note that using drivers not specifically written for your card could go awry, be sure you know how to undo if it goes wrong.
Interestingly the performance increase and even in some cases the graphical quality increase was quite noticable...Sony really should get off their backsides on this, or at the very least make it known when/if we can expect updates.
