Problems with television screen

My older television (bought December 2006) KDL-32s2030 has been working fine until yesterday. There is now a block of multi-coloured stripes down the centre of the screen and a few horizontal lines on the top.

Grateful if anyone has any ideas.  Is my television on the way out!  or would it be worth getting it repaired?

Hi,

this is becomming common on many earlier panels now and this will get progressively worst the only solution next to purchasing a new tv is a replacement panel and this is quite expensive  to replace.
