Hi,
I have the Sony AG8 which I've been happy with, the only issue I have is that it is playing many videos recorded from my Iphone XR or DJI Drone upside down, and it wont play 4K videos at all which seems odd for a 4K TV.
Drone and Iphone videos are saved on a WD Mycloud.
I previously had an older Sony 42W829 HD TV that used the exact same set up and played all video's fine.
I have installed the lastest software version but this has made no difference.
Is there a solution ??
Thanks,
Mojo
Hi Mojo,
Welcome to the Sony Community.
I'm looking into this for you and will update the thread when I have an answer.
Best wishes,
Sean
@MrMojoRisin1971 if the video are recorded upside down there is no solution (I think also other apps cannot swap the playing). You should use an editing program to adjust the video.
The TV is more than able to playback most if not any 4k video. It may depends on which video/audio codec are used. To enlarg the coded managed you may want to use an other player (such as VLC or Nova player or Mxplayer)
Hi MrMojoRisin1971 ,
I totally agree with rooobb . I'd say try to rotate the videos before showing them on the TV. What is the actual file extension of the files that do not play?

I hv the x900h...i also use gopro upside down to record my moyntain biking videos.
The videos playback Perfectly on laptop desktop and mo ile phones. HOWEVER on x900h it plays upside DOWN. From my research it is because the movie player app on the tv does not acknowledge the flag at the beginning of the video that informs the Player to Flip the video rightside up. I hv contacted SONY but they didnt seem to understand the problem. THIS IS A PROBLEM...i would like SONY to address this matter instead of trying to brush it off. TELL ME SONY. .will you address this pro lem correctly?
Hi,
The advantage of having an Android TV is that if you don't like a certain app, you can find an alternative on the Play Store. So even if a certain functionality isn't available on the Sony video player, you can try downloading VLC from the store and use it instead.

Same problem here, i have Sony KD-65XH9096 update to last firmware,
video i recordings on my GoPro 9 camera mounted upside down. When playing this footage back on a laptop or LG, Samsung smart tv the video then plays the correct way.
But if I play the footage back on my Sony android tv, the video is played upside down. It appears that the tv ignores the metadata and doesn’t flip the video. I’ve tried with the VLC and through kodi and using the rotate function but it doesn’t flip it.
Hi, It seems to me it's something to do with the video itself not the TV since you used different apps, maybe try rotating it on your computer first then play it on the TV?
The video on the computer plays correctly, also on Lg TV, and Samsung, 2020 smart tv, if I turn the video on the computer then it will be upside down, does not make sense, I'm sure the problem is on the TV.
please help
Are you also recording the videos upside down? If yes try to edit them on your computer first and let us know if it worked.
