VGN-A197XP Keyboard Issues

Hi,

Since a while I have some issues with my keyboard. When I boot up the notebook it works find for a certain time (mostly about 15min) after that it starts behaving strange. For examle if i press the enter key the system also presses the right mouse button. It looks like this problem occurs with several keys where I press one and another key is beeing pressed as well (mostly a special character).

Any idea if this is the keyboard, the internal keyboard cable or the plug of the keyboard cable? It looks like that the keyboard or the cable reacts on the temperature of the system.

My system is no longer under warranty and I try to get a single replacement part for my notebook without sending it to Sony.

Anatol - Hi,

I think I would check the internal keyboard cable and connections. Some keys share particular circuits and it could be just a poor connection.

Try the cheapest option first!!

hmmm.... thats what I did already several time, but I removed the keyboard again and tryed to carefully plug the cable back in and I assured that it is pluged absolutely in parallel to the mainboard.

And see .... since then it looks like I don't have the problem again.

Thanks for your advice, I already thought it wouldn't help anymore to remove the keyboard again. Lets see how long it works fine.

At least you know what causes the probem !
