Vaio VGN-FZ21Z won't go into standby.

For some reason I can no longer get my Vaio to sleep. I choose the option in the start menu and the screen goes blank but thats all. Everything is still running in the background and if I move the mouse then the screen wakes up.

It used to work when I had just rebuilt it but for some reason it has now stopped. Hibernation is also not working with the same symptoms. Can anyone help please?

have you installed any updates or applications recently.?

At a guess I suspect a running application or process is causing your Vaio to hang on sleep/hibernate..

This could be long winded but try stopping an application or process vai Task Manager and then see if your Vaio enter sleep mode correctly..
