Vaio registration

Hello All
I have registered my Vaio VGN-AR71M, but when I try to access Vaio Update in the Taskbar it says my model information could not be found errorID 0008. Does it take days for registration to filter through the system? If not, how can I find updates for my PC?

Also, is it necessary to use IE to access support? I use Mozilla Firefox in common with a huge number of other people
