update failure on media center guide

I can't download updates to the media center guide. I get "Critical Process Failure Code 3" & "File validation error - mismatched guide package. Code: 22"
I'm using XP MCE on a VGC-VA1 desktop.
Hope someone can give a fix which a non-technical user can implement.

Thank you for trying. I went through Richard Miller's fix, but it didn't work. I can still view MC, but can't update. I now suspect that AVG or MBAM are blocking the update & will try their forum.
