Hi,
I've bought about a month ago a sony vgn-sz1xp, greate notebook, until last week.
The notebook was extremely slow.
Looked at the task manager and system was taking 90% of the cpu, on stamina and speed mode. did a system restore, but it didn't help.
I've formatted the notebook (with original windows XP cd). went fine until i installed the intel chipset driver, same problem again.
In the hardware manager, the sm-buscontroller isn't installed, every time i tried tot install the driver infinst_autol.exe, the system runs 90%of the cpu.

Is my motherboard broken?
anyone who has a clue?
