Sony Vaio VGN-CS11S wireless network switch disables display!!

Help!!!

I have tried everything i can think of and i am fairly computer competent.... i have done a system restore, complete reboot, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, but no matter what i do the wireless network switch as soon as you turn it on, the monitor display instantly goes off. The laptop power remains on, and when I turn the switch off the display returns, with the desktop 'uninterrupted'. I ca access the internet, but only via ethernet. I have tried a neighbours laptop wirelessly on my network and it works fine.

It is driving me insane, and even more so due to the fact that the extended warranty has only just expired. If anyone has a sensible suggestion it would be most welcome!!!!

Hi Spennrie and welcome.

It sounds like a bad contact in the switch and will probably need an engineer to have a look inside.

It is probably not a serious issue as the screen works properly when the wifi is turned off.

There is a workaround which is to leave the switch off and buy a cheap USB WiFi Nano dongle like this

or use a WiFi ExpressCard in your ExpressCard 34 slot: -
