Removing bottom cover on VGN-B1XP PCG-5B1M

I need to change the DC Socket on my Viao VGN-B1XP PCG-5B1M.

I've removed all the screws underneath, including those behind the battery and also those underneath the keyboard, but I can't get the bottom cover to come off! Appears to be stuck towards the battery end of the laptop.

Anyone have any ideas?

Are there any diagrams for dismantling this particular model?

TIA.

Hi hntgzr and welcome to Club Vaio.

I attach the B-Series Manual to the bottom of this post as a .PDF file.

It looks quite complicated - good luck!!

Many thanks for that Blencogo

I'll take a look tomorrow and see if I can get any further than just removing the screws! Looks like I need to shift parts of the casing one way, which I don't think I tried, I just naturally assumed it would lift off like the other two Viao's I have taken apart.

Success

With those instructions it was easy! I had problems getting the palm rest off, didn't realise I had to "jiggle" it to the left.

Many thanks for your help, much appreciated
