Problems with sound and playing music

Hello,

I've noticed recently, like in the last few days, that my vaio occasionally has problems with sound - I start it up and there will be no sound and nothing will play in iTunes. If I restart, this usually goes away, but obviously I would like to fix the problem!

Does anyone have any ideas?

have you installed or uninstalled anything before your sound problems started.?

Have you tried a system restore to a point before your sound problems started.?

I did a Vaio update recently, I can't remember if it was before or after the problem started, it might well have been before. Could it be a driver issue? Also, I did all the automatic updates however it downloaded a few updates that I was required to manually install but didn't have the time to do so I left them, is that sometimes a problem? Where would these files have been downloaded to because I didn't take note of where they were.

It could be a driver issue, have you tried reinstalling your audio drivers.?

Not normally, unless the update states that it would solve a current problem with your Vaio..

Normally the updates that require manual installation are downloaded to the C:\Update folder..

the problem sorted itself out...hasn't arisen in last 4 weeks at least...it was probably a driver issue that was resolved with an update or something, cheers for help anyway!
