Hi all, I bought my laptop at the beginning or August 2005, but it seems that the warranty expired in March 2006.
The power lead connection at the back of the unit has become very loose and falls out easily. Also to power the laptop, it needs to be inserted very carefully, and if it moves slightly, it stops charging. As it is out of warranty, and it seems to me that it needs a new power connection pojnt inside the laptop, where would I be best advised to go to try to get it fixed?
Thanks in advance for any advice
Glyn
Really, I thought it was 12months, unless it's a refurb.
Have a look in your Yellow Pages
As far as I am aware even refurbs come with a 12 month warranty, but if you need an independent repairer try here.
Thanks Rich, that was helpful.
Anyway as an update, aquired a repair manual and the correct part - was available from the US for ~£40 but I paid an extra fiver for speed.
One and a half hours later, vaio dismantled and part replaced, working a treat.
Beats the yellow pages "vaio master"
Well done.
Well it's hard to gage what knowledge you have - we get a lot of newbies on here, so it's nice to see engineers
