LCD hinges broken

Hi to all,

I have huge problem with my Sony Vaio VGN-A217M.
Today, when I close the notebook as usual, without any SUPERMAN strength, I heared a strange sound and the left part of the LCD monitor become moveable: the LCD hing on the left was broken

I know that the image is not enough clear, if you want I will post more cleare images.
The left hing does not seem "broken", I don't see any part of plastic broken...but I am not a technician

I can open the LCD because the internal part of the hing is good (when I open the LCD the
internal part is used as lever) while I cannot close it because the external one is taked out, and I am afraid to break my notebook.

Where can I buy a pair oh hinges for my laptop and how much it costs??

I have just seen that the metal part of the left hing is broken...

Please help me!!
I would not keep it open forever, it is still a notebook.
Thanks for all

You will probably have to order one from the US.

NEXTTRONICS will ship parts worldwide.

A Left Hinge looks like it will cost $35.76 plus about $10 shipping.

Hi Blencogo,

thanks for all. I guess this is the only one choice
The last question is how to umount the notebook for installing the new hing...
Could you tell me some resources (web pages, pdf, video) to make it correctly.

Thx a lot!
Cheers

I attach the manual for your model - have a look at page 12.

It's not very clear but I hope it helps.
