Hi opie,
what reason did Sony give you for not being able to supply the W Key..
have you tryed the online support
if you tell them yor problem and your laptop details they should be able to help you
if they still carnt help then you can get a key (any) from ebay for about 1p
as Thalamus said did they give a reason why sony wont send it out as this is not like sony at all

have you tryed to ring vaio support as you might get a better response
it seems strange that sony and vaio support are acting like this as they are usually very helpful

I did contact the support group and the answer was, sorry your laptop is of 2004 and not in production anymore so we cannot deliver the button any more.
Can someboddy help me with this button or defect keyboard/laptop?

Hi Opie,
Sony have obviously run out of replacement keys for the GRT-Series Vaios.
You will have to buy second-hand. Look on eBay for a broken PCG-GRT Vaio or there is someone here selling individual keys for $6.95 plus postage: -

Or perhaps you could buy a complete replacement keyboard for $62.47 plus postage from the US and sell the keys you don't need like the chap selling individual keys above. Only US and Japanese keyboards are available as UK keyboards have sold out.
