Graphic Tool

Hi guys,

I have Pentium 4 2.8 GHz in my Vaio and as far as I know underclocking is not possible, so in this way I want to underclock the GeForce FX 5600 to decrease the graphic chip temperature

Because I'm not a big gamer, so the performance of the graphic card is for me under priority.

Do you guys know some nice (freeware) tools, which I can decrease the rate (MHz) of the graphic card? Like powerstrip.

Is it a good idea to decrease those values? I mean, when I need performnace (i.e. gaming, graphic intensive needs, etc.) I will increase the rate (MHz) back to default.

So, this will save power and decrease the temperature inside.

What do you think ?

Looks like a handy replacement if you're not scared of fixing it yourself. Could save some people ¿¿¿s

yeah...

but its a big difference.... between $300 to $1000 or so when sony does it for you...
but
did you look at the picture... their is no graphics modul... so.... this means that these modules are sold separatly... which means replaceable to other modul models??????

my driver version says 6.14.01.4364... now i have seen that version numbers differ from country to country.

The exactly driver version is 6.14.10.4690 from Sony. I don't think that the drivers are diffrence, only the language.
Are those options (nView, Taktfrequenz) by default, when you gonna install the driver?

also on some drivers it might be that you need to tweak it so that the extra options show up... a very good tweaker that i have seen is XTeg... i know that this tweaker offers graphics card tweaking.

Where can I get XTeg, do you have an introduction?

now I downloaded the x-setup pro 6.6 tool.

Steps, which I've done:

All X-Setup Pro Plugins -> Hardware -> Video Cards -> NVidia -> GeForce Overclocker NEW ------> Applied Changes

After rebooting the system, I have the Taktfrequenz Option  but where's the 'nView' Option???

hi,

i uninstalled that tool. after underclocking (settings 125/250 MHz ) I reversed the settings to default with a system crash. it was the first system crash i ever have.

anyway, i think, i will not use any tweaking tools for the video card anymore....BUT for the cpu it would be very very nice
