Hey Guys
I just bought a Vaio VGN-FZ18L a few months ago, running on Vista and I am now having problems with it. Whenever I want to go to my computer or my documents my whole desktop crashes and it goes blank. So I want to format the whole computer but I have no recovery discs with it. Can I still do a format?? Will I lose the programs that came with the laptop when I frist bought it?? I would appreciate your help.

Cheers

Hi Dolceda

welcome to Club Vaio..

You're Vaio has a hidden HDD recovery partition..

Start your Vaio and when you see the Vaio logo press the F10 key repeatedly, this should start the recovery process and restore your Vaio back to the original state, ie Vista and pre-installed applications..

Beware that the recovery process will remove all data from the C drive, make sure you backup important data first..

FYI you can create a set of recovery disc's by doing the following..

Click Start, All Programs, then Vaio Recovery Center..

Click Continue on the User Account Control window

Select Create Recovery Disc then press Start..
