Error with DVD (This device is disabled. (Code 22))

Hi

I'm getting an error.  The DVD isn't working.  I vaguely remember turning the power off on it to save battery some time ago.  Can't remember where it was I set it though!

However. now I need to use it. I went into Device manager, and it says the DVD is disabled; I go onto properties, and it gives this message

Error with DVD (This device is disabled. (Code 22))

I click on the 'enable' button and a dialog pops up saying it can't be enabled.

Is there a problem with the DVD, or where do I turn it back on?

Hi Johnny,

Try uninstalling the device in Device Manager (right click and select uninstall) – and then re-boot. The drive should be detected and reinstalled.

If this fails to resolve the problem then try booting in safe mode to rule out any driver/software conflicts.
