I have a new Sony Vaio and have set the regions and all language selections to English, but my display language remains in German. It is a German operating system, but with my other Sony laptop (not a Vaio) once I selected English, all that followed was also in English.
I have completed all updates for both Sony Vaio and Windows 7. I have returned to the Control Panel and reselected my region and language preferences, but that has not helped. I attempted to download the Language Packets, however, English is not a selectable download... I assume that is because it is one of the default languages.
Set up is a challenge because all the technical questions are in German and I do not wish to press "Ja" when I should be pressing "Nein."
Please help...
Thanks, all.
All operating systems come with a preselection of languages - e.g. german ones only provide de_de
whereas swiss ones are selectable on first boot (fr / it / de).
PS: Please consider to post your question in the appropriate language section next time - you can change between these on the top right of the page (I've moved your question now.)
In theory you could upgrade Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate, and then switch between various user interface languages for Windows. Check out the "Windows Anytime Upgrade" options on the Windows Update page - it's not cheap, let alone free.
Hi Verse97,
welcome to Questions & Answers..:smileyhappy:
I've not used this myself but you could try using Vistalizator to change the language..
