Can a Blu-ray Disc player burn DVDs?

It may be a silly question.  My Vaio laptop model is VPCCW2X5018B.  I wonder if the Blu-ray player can burn DVDs or even CDs?  Thanks.

I cannot find your model on the Vaio website - I presume it is a customised (CEO) model.

Anyway, I think all Bluray drives are also DVD-RW and CD-RW and will burn DVDs and CDs.

Only a few drives actually burn Blu-Ray as well - most are just BD-ROM.

If you go yo Device Manager and expand DVD/CD-ROM Drives, you should find the make and type of drive installed.  If you Google this model, you should be able to find the specifications.

Thank you Blencogo.  I did as what you suggested and found it is also CD-RW and DVD-RW.  I burnt CDs successfully last night (I didn't have DVD-R at hand then).
