Hi
I've had my laptop for 18 months and it has been fine. I normally use it in a docking station but last week I took it away on a trip. It will not work at all on battery power. Won;t even boot up. When I look at the power management screen it can't 'see' the battery. It just says Battery #1 not present. I've checked that the battery is fitted properly.
Can anyone help?
Anne
Hi Anne.
It is possible for a battery to die after 18 months but this should not be normal.
The only way you can establish if the battery is faulty is to borrow a working one from somewhere. I appreciate that it may not be easy to find a VGP-BPL5 but I can't think of another way without buying a battery and trying it.

Just thought I'd chip in,
My battery died a couple of weeks ago...less than two years of use out of it. I would expect it to retain less charge, but either it is completely dead or something is wrong inside my VAIO.
