About replacing a graphics card

Vpcec2soe is bundled  with ati mobility radeon hd 5470 512mb. It doesn't support 3d games. Is it replacable with any 512mb graphics card that supports 3d gaming?

Unfortunately laptop computers do not have a slot in graphics card like the old desktop computers.

What you get in nearly all laptops is a chip that is soldered into the motherboard and not economically replaceable - cost would be prohibitive.

NVidia and ATi do manufacture "workstation"-class graphics for big professional CAD/3D Modelling laptops but these are very expensive.

The ati mobility radeon hd 5470 512mb does play/support 3d games.

it fully supports DX11 and I have played a few games with this card myself.

can I ask why you think it doesn't support 3d games?

Actually I don't think that doesn't support 3d games:smileyconfused:. I think u r right  I've asked sony customer care about it. They told the card I mentioned is bundled with Vaio VPCEC2S0E doesn't support 3d gaming. But i've also played some games like NFS Hot Persuite, Spider man : Shuttered Dimention in this laptop. I have to set display in low.  I love my laptop so much. I am just trying  to find a way to improve it. Unfortunately there is no easy way. Thanks to Biencogo for helping me. I have a little knowledge about laptops. If u have any idea that can be helpfull, kindly inform me. I'll be gratefull to u. Thank u so much for ur kind response.:smileyhappy::smileyhappy::smileyhappy:
