59 Hertz?

when i bought my vaio the monitor was set up to 59hertz even though you can also choose 60. Is 59 better? Why wasnt it set to 60?

I don't know if this reasoning is correct, but, if you cannot tell any visual difference in the 59hz and 60hz refresh rate, then you will be saving processor power not to mention battery life (albeit a microscopic amount) which could give a boost elsewhere. this same reasoning could be applied to system bus speed and processor clock speed (underclocking?!) which could represent longer overall life of your laptop for negligible loss in performance.
