Alrighty folks.
less than 4 years ago I purchased a Sony KDL50W656ASU 50-inch Widescreen TV. It came with the standard 1 year manufactures guarantee. Last night horizontal lines appeared on the screen along with a high pitched buzzing. Shortly afterwards the picture failed completely so now there is only black screen with sound. I have since ordered a new Sony BRAVIA KD55XE8396 55" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV (this time with a 5 year guarantee) but I am less than impressed with getting less than 4 years out of what was an £800 TV. I have always bought Sony goods and this is the 1st time I’ve had an issue.
Is there something Sony can do to compensate this inconvenience or am I screwed?
