Sony KD-36NX200U CRT TV with Freeview

Sorry - couldn't find a suitable category for this post.

Just bought this on eBay advertised as with built-in Freeview but have since discovered it's not compatible with all channels due to technology change - fair enough, but the sales advert was misleading and I would not have bought this set, although it has excellent picture and sound.

Although I already have a spare set-top box, is there any hardware or software upgrade for this set which can be installed to fix this please?

Hi

If you are referring to Freeview HD, then unfortunately not. But this panel can't display HD images anyway so its kind of a moot point.

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

No I was not referring to Freeview HD but all the other non-HD Freeview channels. The set only picks up 18 of these currently including Dave, Dave+1 and Sky News, the rest I guess are technically not compatible with this older 2002 designed set. So I'm looking for a hardware or software upgrade that will fix this, but I'm sure the answer will still be none.
