KDL-32CX523 firmware upgrade

Just carried this out? Took about 6 mins.

Anyone know what user settings were changed by this upgrade? I haven't spotted any as yet.

Don

It will show the new firmware version but I don't see a listing of new (or changed) user settings. Should I?

This file updates your TV set firmware to version PKG3.704EUA, and provides the following benefits:

Improvements in this version:

  • View Facebook photos and videos  in Full Screen
  • Additional Ticker Mode  in Twitter
  • Link the search result in Track ID to Twitter
  • Prevents dropout from 3D mode during 1080i / 1080p transitions on Freeview HD.(UK only)
  • Improved compatibility with the Top Up TV CI+ CAM.(UK only)

Thanks, 'traveltiger'.  I see the new firmware version is confirmed as PKG3.704EUA-0104 alright but not those details you quote. Where did you get those from precisely?

AAMOF the items in your list are not too interesting to me, but in future I'll need to see the update list, so it would be useful then to be able to view it.

While we're about this subject, what do you make of the (green button) second page of that item, where it shows red/yellow/green bars graphing both signal quality and signal strength. Fortunately mine read 100% and 98% respectively, so that's OK, but surely Sony aren't suggesting that the yellow band, say 33% to 67%, for either strength or quality would be acceptable (ie greater than the red, unacceptable, band)?

The TV is just reporting the strength of the signal it is receiving - were it red, then you would probably need to investigate your aerial and see if it needed replacing..

Thanks

Ah, thanks for the web report site. The update detail is NOT reported via the TV's menus then.

No it does NOT state what settings, etc have been updated in the Bravia menu, it only shows you what version of firmware is currently installed..
