My son has recently bought a Sony KDL-325500 TV

It has an internet cable connection on rear - but does not respond when connected to router

Is something else required?

I cannot find this TV model on Sony.uk site

But try to setup the network connection using AUTO mode

if no success, try to setup up by using MANUAL mode and assign static IP address for the TV

This panel give you limited DLNA functionality I think. If you are after iPlayer and the other video services, best route would be to either pickup a Blu-ray player or an SMP-N100 netbox which will give you all the Internet services.

Thanks for reply - I now find the Model number should be KDL-32W5500 !

I wonder whether this throws any more light on my query - is it possible to get I-Player etc on this model by dierct connection to an internet router/LAN ?
