I bought this model a month ago but in the past couple of days it has failed to come out of standby mode twice, either by using the remote, power button on the side or turning on a connected device. The only fix is to turn it off at the power source.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or should I look to get it replaced as it's brand new?
Hi Deehan1888,
Welcome to the Sony Community.
I would recommend to check that the TV software is up todate.
It could also be that the Power Saving or Sleep Timer functions may be set. These can cause the TV to turn on or off at certain times or when no activity is detected. If the TV turns on or off at regular intervals, such as 30 minutes or an hour, it is likely that one of these functions is set.
To check whether or not your TV has power saving functions such as Idle TV Standby, On Timer, and Sleep Timer, and for instructions on how to set them up or turn them off, please find more information here.
Best wishes,
Sean Mc
I'm having a similar issue with mine. i own the kdl-75w850c."Idle tv standby" message pops up and no matter what buttons you press, the notification will not disappear. It eventually goes away on its own after 5-6 mins or so. I'm not even sure why the notification shows if I'm playing my ps4. My sharp television knows to disable idle tv when I'm gaming, but my Bravia doesn't recognize my ps4?... Baffling
I have this same issue,
Did you manage to solve it?
Other issues with this model of TV include: TV volume increases by itself after a couple if presses on the remote as if it's possessed. TV recently started to switch on from standby and display Sony logo, before switching off for a few seconds and then coming back on with the Android logo
Please let me know if you've had other issues and how you solved them. Did you bin the TV?
Thanks
Do you have the latest software version installed? I believe for this model it's currently at 6.6555, that should be the first thing to check, then disconnecting it from any external devices and the wall for about 3 minutes to depower completely.
