How do I get my KDL-V26A12U to keep its settings to the Virgin HD box via the HDMI IN 4 socket?

Every time I turn off the set and turn on again, it's lost the settings for the HDMI IN 4 socket.  So I have to go into Input select on the TV remote before it recognises that it's connected there.  I've saved the settings for hdmi on the Virgin remote.  Is there something I can do via the SET UP on the TV remote so that it automatically connects when I turn the TV on?

you should be able to select the AV preset in the AV set up menu of the tv.

Under AV preset it says HDMI against AV4, but I still need to press input select after I switch on, before it connects. Is there anything else I can do?
