UBP-X800 Locking Up

I'm experiencing lock ups when I'm stop playback of a Bluray (Gomorrah Season 1-3). Pressing stop results in an unresponsive machine, can't turn off or eject or restart playback, only solution is to pull power and reboot! Any ideas? I'm in the UK and am running most recent firmware.

Hi chjohns1481,

There are a couple of things you can try but I'd recommend starting with updating your player's firmware, you can find the update here.

Does the issue happen when playing the same Blu-ray on other players? Maybe there's an issue with the disc. You can also try these steps:

  1. [HOME]
  2. [Setup]
  3. [Screen Settings]
  4. [BD-ROM 24p Output] -> [Off]

finally a factory reset maybe needed if the issue remains.

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers,

Hi Sean,

in reply to your advice.

Firmware is already up to date.

Haven't tried it on another machine, but it has happened on 4 different disks so far.

Turning off 24p output doesn't resolve it.

Haven't gone to a reset as I can workaround it by going back to main menu before pressing stop!

Pressing stop at end of an episode results in the lockup!

Regards,

Chris

Hi chjohns1481

I think that you can test the discs on a different machine first and if it turns out that your player is the source of the issue you should try to reset it to factory settings.

If other discs are working fine on your player then the chances of this being a hardware issue are very low.
