To stream or not to stream in 4k?

I have a 55" XF9005 Series and a HT-ZF9 Soundbar.

I want to stream 4k movies from my laptop.

I have tried Plex without much success.

Does anyone have any failsafe tips?

I would prefer to stream rather than have to sttach my external harddrive to the TV.

You can play content on your TV from a computer/laptop connected to same home network via a router from the built-in media apps on your TV. You'll find more information on this link.
