Ever since the Oreo update, my Bravia TV has not powered up from standby using the remote or the power switch on the rear of the TV.
I am having to pull the lead from the rear of the TV and reboot it.
I have also carried out a complete reset, which has made no difference.
I'm willing to give sony the benefit of the doubt and hopefully sony will sort this out and produce another update.
But going on past experience with other Sony products. I will not be holding my breath.
Seems that was a temp fix, back to not switching on again
I'm trying the Eco all off and Auto power off/off solution from other post,
Not removing my usb dongle Has it's for the Sony official Sub for the TV,
Hopefully a fix firmware is in the works.
Exact same issue for me. I have to reboot by disconnecting the power lead every 4 to 5 days in order for my TV to power up from standby; it does not recognise the remote or anything.
Hopefully there is an update for this and that it's not a hardware issue.
According to Sony it's not a known issue..🤔🤔 please release an update I paid £900 for a mirror
Did you already try not using the usb port when you switch the TV to standby?
I emailed Sony about this problem and the solution was a new main board, covered by warranty and an excellent service from Regional Repair Centre in Birmingham. Don't know why but seems a much better picture since repair.
No, Sorry sony.
I didn't pay £800 for an engineer to come out to replace a main board in less than 2 years of ownership.
They either replace the TV or I sue them.
Hopefully they read these comments.
5 year warranty thank god
Hi Jabbermack,
Based on the comments above, I don't think this is related to the motherboard or your TV in particular.
This is definitely a glitch with the software. I've read that people have been disconnecting USB drives before starting up their TVs and disabling the service replacement settings.
Could you try these steps: Home - Settings - Channel set up - Technical set up - Service replacement - Off?
Cheers,
