6.6152 Android 10 update - lag and loading settings menus

Hi all,

Before I factory reset my Sony KD75XH8096BU that received the Android 10 update this week (and then another update - I am now on v6.6152 - https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-xh80xx_x80xxh_x81xh-series/kd-75xh8096/so...

I was wondering - am I the only one experiencing lag when browsing the menus? Especially the setting menu is a massive downgrade in comparison to Android 9 (why is it fullscreen now?)...

Also, some setting menus take minutes to load?

I have video proof that I could upload if needed...

Cheers

My mother’s KE-48A9 had the same very slow performance. A factory reset fixed this.

A video would be very helpful thank you, something along what I did below. It is possible updating FW entailing Android 10 might have cleared Android cache, which would take a short while to re-cache. A factory reset and then reinstall apps and re-enter user/passwords etc, is a PIA but might help.

I put up a video some years ago about annoying power consumption messages which was quickly picked up by HDTVTest which  I think helped contribute to Sony modifying subsequent FW updates:

The new firmware v6.5016 Jan 2021 has introduced a very annoying notification about power consumption. You have to click "ok" or "cancel" on the pop up notification everytime many PQ settings are changed. Apparently in response to a new EU regulation (UK not in EU anymore!) It is such a stupid ...

Hi there,

Please find the video below:

Indeed, I ran a factory reset which solved the issues - even though I still think that Android 10 is a bit slower than Android 9 (at least on my TV).

Many thanks

Hey @TVANCleeds

Sometimes the electronic device needs to be reset after the update, so it would be placed properly without any glitches. As sometimes the TV lags or glitches after installing a new software, when you do a factory reset it rectifies the glitches caused by the software update and reinstall the update again.
