Sony Nex 5r won't connect to Facebook

Hi all, just got a nex 5r for christmas downloaded the direct upload up and connected the camera to my home wireless broadband. but it won't connect to facebook or play memories. What am i doing wrong, please help!

Are you getting an error message in the camera or some kind of error code? If you have any further information available it may help diagnose the issue. If you have successfully managed to install the apps then at least we know that the wireless connection is functioning properly.

Hi Simon,

No error message has come up. The wi-fi looks to be connected, I then go to the facebook login page, put in my username and password and press login. Seconds later the following messages pops up: cannot connect to network! same message pops up with playmemories.
