Sony A37 Flash Sync Speed.

I do a lot of work involving studio flash, But what is the actual flash sync speed of the A37?   I've used it at a shutter speed of 250 and got curtain shadow at 160 (Same as A200)  there nothing, but is this the max for flash speed??

Also off this subject, what are the plans for introducing a Battery Grip - My only bug bear with the camera is that the main grip is too small and instead of turning the dial for adjusting the apperatur/speed I end up turning off the camera!  Having a battery grip will not only solve this but give me additional power for longer shoots.

Any help would be appreciated. :

Hi gogorabbit and welcome.

The specifications for your camera confirm flash sync up to 1/160 sec.

Sony rarely disclose their future plans but I doubt if they will produce a vertical grip for the A37.   All you can do is keep an eye on the website.   Vertical Grips are only available for the top-end models A77, A900, A99.

Thankyou Blencogo.

Couldn't find the specs in either of the manuals so this helps loads.

Regarding the Vertical grip, I have one for my Sony A200 but this isn't compatable with the A37.  I'm hoping they will produce one as the battery doesn't seem to last very long. lol

     Thankyou again.
