Can I use a Sony DT 50mm AF f/1.8 SAM lens on my Sony Alpha A300?

Hello,

I'm looking to buy a new lens for my Sony Alpha A300. I've been looking at the DT 50mm AF f/1.8 SAM lens but according to the Sony website, my DSLR doesn't appear as a compatible model to the lens. Is this correct?

Thanks

Hello adcamer65 - Welcome to the Sony Forums

In reality, the A300 and the A330 are virtually the same camera with the latter having upgraded features and because of this, the lens that you mention is fully compatible with the A300 even though it is not mentioned on the product listing on the Sony website.

If you take a look at the DSLR-A300 support page which can be found here .....

http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/DSLR-A300/compatibility

..... you will see that the DT 50mm AF f/1.8 SAM lens is listed in the section for compatible lenses.

Thanks,

Simon
