Rinse SRS-XB3's membranes w. water?

Hi Guys!

I just pulled away the grill from my Sony SRS-XB3 and saw a lot of dust on the speaker's circular membranes (the left and the right one -- not the rectangular one in the middle). I therefore decided to clinse it with water fast, under the water tap.

However, I see that the two outer membranes are made of a paper like material? Shouldn't they be water resistant? They look the same, now that they're dried, but I'm still so paranoid and having an OCD attack haha, thinking that they're damaged.

Because they are water resistant, they must be able to handle flowing water, and heavy rain, etc, right? As long as you don't drench them, under the surface of a lake or bath-tub, because that's only possible with water-proof ones. So they must be okay? Right?
