Hello Everyone,
I am wondering if some one else had ever encountered the same problem, I have tried to search but can not find any such problem in the Forum, so please excuse me if it is a repeat pot.
Before telling me problem I think it is important to describe my netwrok first. I am currently using Virgin Media Cable Internet and Linksys WRT54G Wireless router. Currently my network has following devices;
Wireless:
Sony Vaio VGN-FZ38M (Vista), IBM Think Pad t42 (XP); Dell Latitude D460 (XP), O2 XDA Orbit (Windows mobile 5), Nokia N95 (symbian) and Lexmark 4550 wireless printer
Wired
XBOX360 Elite Console
Now coming to main point every thing was working fine till day before yesterday, but now the problem I am facing is that as soon as I turn my Vaio on and all other devices automatically gets disconnected from Router, and even on Vaio the netwrok status shows "LOCAL ACCESS ONLY", now for the past 2 days I have been trying to resolve it and steps I have already taken include;
1. Contacted Linksys and they advised to update the firmware of router, did that but no result
2. Restored my Vaio to factory defaults but problem is still there
I would like to explain it further, I tried both Wired and Wireless connections on my Vaio, but problem remained the same, as soon as I plug wire into my laptop, the normal working router reboots itself and shows Local Access Only. Then if all cables re removed and router + modem are reset, the network works fine, as long as Vaio is not on network. There is another strange thing happening, sometimes it works too. When Vaio boots up and windows drivers are loading it shows network connectivity (Local and Internet) but as various drivers are loaded all devices get disconnected and connectivuty changes to Local Only. I have checked the startup and there are no unknown devices listed there. One last point to mention is that the problem started after my Vaio was returned from Sony Sevice Center, so could there be any configuration done by Sony that is causing this problem?
Can someone suggest me what can be done to resolved this, I shall be really very very greatful, I had been on phone with Linksys for about 3 hours and they are not able to understand.
Please accept apologies for a ver long post waiting to hear back from you
Many thanks in advance for your help
